To the magnificent
ocean:From the east, to the west, and back
in the greater scheme of all seas
from the east, to the west, and forward
there is no such thing.
Yesterday’s ripples are all still the moment’s wave.Feel it, like butterfly wings, feel
it: storm from wave from
vapor; your
every… breath.
It felt surreal to live through this week when, after a long time of seeming inactivity, I was suddenly doing things, one after another. I didn’t think about it, at least at the start: I felt the urge to do a specific something, feeling in my whole being that I ought to do it, and then I did. And it was terrific. Until I was more than a foot out the door and what was just an attempt was starting to look like a proper action plan with results–consequences–in sight. Then, naturally, all the other stuff followed suit. First were the little habits: looking into the future, into the possibilities and what-nots. Then the next thing I knew, I was crying out of stress and worry.
What am I doing? Is this actually going to work?
Why?
But earlier today, I looked out and gazed at the trees in front of our house and remembered where it all started. It’s funny, now that I think about it: it started with a vague idea in my mind and just the action-to-be-done-at-the-moment and then things happened. Good outcomes that were slowly but surely coming in… when I wasn’t thinking about them. When I wasn’t obsessing over the finer details and was just… doing what I ought to be doing.
And that was a snippet of today’s Project Resonance (previously letters from gyu, which it… still is, just with the added exclusive podcast). There’s a bit more in today’s letter, as I reflect on some of the many things that had hit me recently. Do sign up either through this link or through the form in this page (right sidebar or at the bottom if you’re on mobile) if you want the full thing and more every Saturday.
And if you’re already signed up, feel free to send me a reply or whatever message any time through my e-mail, [email protected]. I have no sense of time but I sure will get to you with all gratitude and attention the soonest possible.
Honestly, I didn’t even realize it’s Saturday already. So if you’re like me, then here’s your reminder: happy weekend! Is there still such a thing?
